Production Schedule

Production Schedule

Week 1 (16/11/2015) – Work on the drafts for my three main task products including page structure, image composition, cover lines, magazine name and other conventional features (rough sketches with annotation) and plan my photoshoot; props, costume, location, model etc.

Week 2 (23/11/2015) – Complete the photoshoot for my magazine products; main cover image, double page spread image and other photos which can be used in the double page spread and contents page. Also gather previously taken photographs from concerts which can be added into the contents page. After the photoshoot, produce a contact sheet and select the strongest images to use for my products.

Week 3 (30/11/2015) – Begin to construct my magazine front cover. Edit the chosen main cover image using conventional airbrushing techniques in Photoshop and use a consistent colour scheme.

Week 4 (07/12/2015) – Continue with magazine front cover construction. Add cover lines, masthead, barcode, puff, price, main cover line and banner using fonts from ‘DaFont’. Use a variety of fonts and sizes to conform to magazine conventions. Also use grid lines/rulers to evenly space features on the front cover.

Week 5 (14/12/2015) – Begin to construct the contents page of my magazine. Work on the basic layout of the page and edit the images that will feature. Use a consistent colour scheme and use fonts from ‘DaFont’; use the same font as on the magazine cover for the title of the page.

Week 6 (04/01/2016) – Continue to construct the contents page by adding page numbers and descriptions and image captions. Also add links to social media pages at the top of the contents page and write subscription information at the bottom of the page. Evenly space page descriptions/columns to look conventional. Add finishing touched to the page – web address, page colours, font size etc.

Week 7 (11/01/2016) – Begin to construct the double page spread for my magazine. Edit the main image of the page conforming to chosen colour scheme and position it onto the DPS. Also edit the second image (smaller) that will be on the left page. Explore font styles in ‘DaFont’ and create the pull quote page title and kicker.

Week 8 (18/01/2016) – Continue to construct the double page spread by writing the feature article (interview style) using a column structure with even spacing. Add conventional page features to the DPS such as page number, small magazine masthead denotation, image captions, magazine issue and subtitle.

Week 9 (25/01/2016) – Review all of the final products and improve each one in any ways possible or necessary. Check that they conform to genre and magazine conventions and are all appropriate to my target audience in a professional and representational way.

Week 10 (01/02/2016) – Make any final changes needed to my finished products.
